My research aims to analyze the dynamical response of modular structures under seismic excitation through computational and experimental approaches. My name is Niloufar Behboud. I am a Ph.D. candidate in structural engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). My professor, Dr. Farzin Zareian, and I are working on a project with the subject of “Experimental and Analytical Study of Stiffened Column Base Connections and Their Effect on The Seismic Performance of Steel Moment Frames.” I also have professional experience in the industry as a designer of steel connections and an R&D team member. My name is Anders Johnson and I am an incoming graduate student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I have previously been involved with the design and fabrication of modular concrete footings to be used for a variety of research tests which was completed in Spring 2021. I am planning to focus on special moment frame connection research for my graduate thesis with Professor Michael Deigert. I keep myself busy outside of school by playing guitar and piano and I am a huge fan of traveling.
